First Photos of David Corenswet as Superman Revealed!

After much anticipation, the first set photos of David Corenswet as the DCU’s Man of Tomorrow in “Superman” have finally surfaced!

An official image of Corenswet in costume initially drew mixed reactions from fans. However, these new photos reveal a suit that is far more colorful and reminiscent of the “classic” Superman look.

Though the suit appears a bit loose on Corenswet, it’s likely due to the action scenes being filmed. It’s common for actors to wear roomier suits on set (Chris Evans often did as Captain America), with VFX used in post-production to refine the fit.

The biggest highlight here is the return of the iconic trunks. The new photos showcase them in all their glory, and we’re giving them a big thumbs up!

As for Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific, he looks as though he’s stepped straight out of the comics. This impressively accurate portrayal suggests that James Gunn is committed to staying true to the source material for “Superman” and future DCU projects.

Check out the new Superman set photos in the X posts below.

“Superman” follows the journey of the titular hero as he reconciles his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. Embodying truth, justice, and the American way, he is guided by human kindness in a world that often sees kindness as old-fashioned.

David Corenswet stars as the Man of Steel, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The cast also features Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.

Supporting roles include Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Pa Kent, Neva Howell as Ma Kent, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher MacDonald as Ron Troupe, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Milly Alcock is expected to make a cameo appearance as Supergirl before starring in her own movie, “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.”

“Superman” is set to be released in theatres on July 11, 2025.
