Since the iconic 1998 film “Blade” and its first sequel, Wesley Snipes has been synonymous with the titular vampire-slayer. Despite a lukewarm reception to “Blade: Trinity,” Snipes’ portrayal remains a fan favourite. With news of Mahershala Ali taking over the role for a reboot, hopes of Snipes reprising his role seemed dim.
However, recent rumours suggest otherwise. According to Daniel Richtman, known for credible inside information, Snipes has allegedly signed on to reprise his role as Blade in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. While details are scarce, speculation arises regarding potential appearances in upcoming projects such as “Deadpool and Wolverine” or “Avengers: Secret Wars.”
Whether Snipes’ return coincides with the Blade reboot or introduces Multiverse elements remains uncertain. Nevertheless, fans eagerly await confirmation of this exciting development.
When asked about the possibility of suiting-up as Blade again in a 2022 interview with ComicBook.com, Snipes said the following.
“Never say never. Long as I’m healthy and in shape, I can rock with them. Yeah, as far as my predictions on if something like that happened in future, I don’t know. I don’t know. It seems to me if it would’ve happened, it would’ve happened already. But hey, never say never. No, [Marvel Studios has not approached me] as of yet. I’m still working on my acting skills. So when I come up as an actor, maybe they’ll reach out and say, ‘Let’s have a conversation,’ or maybe they don’t feel I’m ensemble player.”
