Warner Bros. Pictures Releases Spine-Chilling Trailer for “The Watchers” (or “The Watched” for UK Audiences)

From the eerie mind of producer M. Night Shyamalan comes a horror film like no other, written and directed by his daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan.

Adapted from the novel by A.M. Shine, “The Watchers” delves into the unsettling journey of Mina, a 28-year-old artist stranded in the vast, untamed wilderness of western Ireland. Seeking refuge, Mina unwittingly finds herself ensnared with three strangers, all prey to enigmatic creatures haunting the nights.

In this enigmatic realm, visibility is a one-way street—they watch, but you can’t see.

The newly released trailer ramps up the tension, promising a bone-chilling experience that leaves audiences on the edge of their seats. With her background in directing episodes of Apple TV+’s “Servant,” Ishana Night Shyamalan is well-prepared for her directorial debut, having absorbed a lifetime of her father’s cinematic mastery.

In a recent interview with Variety, M. Night Shyamalan discussed the upcoming release of both “The Watchers” and “Trap,” offering a glimpse into the horror-filled summer ahead for moviegoers.

“It just played out this way,” he admitted. “It was just: What is the best date for that movie and what is the best day for this movie? And it turned out it was in the same summer.”

As for what drew her to filmmaking, Ishana tells the trade, “The training from him has existed my whole life…I’ve moved through different forms of art throughout my whole life and kind of later in life came to filmmaking. But there’s really been no other option in terms of my psyche – I’ve only felt that I think I need to be doing art to survive.”

Starring a stellar cast including Dakota Fanning (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Ocean’s Eight”), Georgina Campbell (“Barbarian,” “Suspicion”), Oliver Finnegan (“Creeped Out,” “Outlander”), and Olwen Fouere (“The Northman,” “The Tourist”), “The Watchers” promises an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan, and Nimitt Mankad, with Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer serving as executive producers, the film boasts a talented crew behind the scenes.

Behind the camera, writer/director Shyamalan is joined by director of photography Eli Arenson (“Lamb,” “Hospitality”), production designer Ferdia Murphy (“Lola,” “Finding You”), editor Job ter Burg (“Benedetta,” “Elle”), and costume designer Frank Gallacher (“Sebastian,” “Aftersun”). The haunting music is crafted by Abel Korzeniowski (“Till,” “The Nun”).

Mark your calendars for the international theatrical release of “The Watchers” starting June 5, 2024, followed by its North American debut on June 7, 2024.
