As the first trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die hits the screens, fans have come together to show their support for directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. This demonstration of solidarity comes in the wake of disappointment over the cancellation of their Batgirl movie by WB in 2022.

The unveiling of the first trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die has reignited fervent backing for directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. This surge of support comes on the heels of Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav’s controversial decision to halt their Batgirl project in 2022.

The Batgirl movie was shelved as a tax write-off, amid rumors circulating that Barbara Gordon’s solo debut didn’t meet expectations. DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran later hinted at the film’s troubled production, suggesting it may have been deemed unreleasable.

Despite these assertions, several individuals involved in the project, including stars Leslie Grace and Brendan Fraser, have contested these claims. Fans are now more convinced than ever that the notion of Batgirl being “unreleasable” is unfounded, further solidifying their support for El Arbi and Fallah.

While a captivating trailer (subject to debate) doesn’t always guarantee a stellar movie, the success of Bad Boys 4, if it lives up to expectations, doesn’t absolve the filmmakers of any missteps with Batgirl.

As for the possibility of witnessing Batgirl ourselves, the odds seem slim to none, with uncertainties lingering over the movie’s existence. However, Leslie Grace has hinted at discussions with Peter Safran and James Gunn regarding a potential return as Babs in the future.
