Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes unveils thrilling TV spot: Evil Proxima Midnight welcomes us to his kingdom, but young Noa shows no interest in joining!

As we approach the summer blockbuster season, 20th Century Studios treats us to a fresh TV spot for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. This latest preview offers a glimpse into the high-octane sequel to Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves’ celebrated prequel trilogy.

Within the trailer, Proxima Caesar asserts his dominion and demands Noa’s submission. Yet, our new protagonist stands resolute against his tyranny, hinting at an impending clash. The looming question remains: how does this narrative progression align with the iconic world introduced in 1968’s Planet of the Apes? Only time will tell.

In a recent interview, Freya Allan, known for her role in The Witcher, sheds light on her character Mae’s role in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

“It was incredible,” she enthused. “I watched a lot of the series beforehand and yeah, it’s my proudest moment in my career so far. I’m really excited for it to come out, and proud of everyone involved – all the other actors and the director, Wes Ball, are fantastic. Everyone behind the scenes is just brilliant. I can’t really say anything, but I’m telling you now, go and see it.”

“Trust me, it’s so weird to watch it and see myself with, what were humans, and now they’re just chimpanzees,” Allan says of being the movie’s lone human. “It’s crazy. And I feel like I’m almost part of a secret club, because no one will ever get to really know how much these incredible actors’ performances are translated into these animals.”

“It’s crazy what they’re able to do with the technology. But I feel like no one will ever quite know how similar it really is, other than us.”

Director Wes Ball infuses fresh vitality into the expansive, worldwide franchise, which unfolds many generations after Caesar’s reign. In this future era, apes reign supreme, living in harmony while humans dwell in obscurity.

Amidst the rise of a new tyrannical ape ruler and the expansion of his empire, a young ape embarks on a perilous journey. This odyssey leads him to question his understanding of the past and forces him to make decisions that will shape the destiny of both apes and humans.

The stellar cast of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes includes Owen Teague (IT), Freya Allan (The Witcher), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key), Peter Macon (Shameless), and William H. Macy (Fargo).

Penned by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds) along with Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Avatar: The Way of Water) and Patrick Aison (Prey), the screenplay draws from characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver. The production boasts a lineup of producers including Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (The Maze Runner), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Jason Reed (Mulan), with Peter Chernin (Planet of the Apes) and Jenno Topping (Ford v. Ferrari) as executive producers.

Prepare for the grandeur of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the latest instalment in the esteemed 20th Century Studios franchise, arriving exclusively in theatres on May 10, 2024.
