Pokémon GO Unveils Limited-Time Event Featuring Paid Special Research, New Pokémon Variants, and Additional Encounters.
The “Verdant Wonders” event is on the horizon in Pokemon GO, featuring new paid Special Research and the exclusive “Rogue Monkey” Pokemon, Zarude. Similar to past events, players will have a brief window to purchase the Special Research and enjoy exclusive bonuses like additional encounters and reward drops.
Kicking off with Pokémon GO Season 14: World of Wonders on March 1, Niantic has wasted no time in unveiling a slew of events scheduled for March and beyond. These include exciting new Primal Kyogre and Groudon Raid Day events, Weather Week, and the highly anticipated start of Pokémon GO Fest 2024 in late May. Each event presents players with opportunities to acquire new Pokémon and valuable items to enhance their collection. The upcoming Verdant Wonders event promises similar perks for those who opt to participate in the new Special Research.
Niantic has officially announced the duration of the upcoming Pokemon GO Verdant Wonders event, which is set to run from Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 25, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During this short window, players will have the opportunity to embark on the paid “Rogue of the Jungle” Special Research story.
Tickets for the Special Research will be priced at $7.99 each, granting access to an encounter with the elusive Zarude upon completion of the Special Research story. As players progress through the Special Research, they can also earn rewards such as two Premium Battle Passes, six Silver Pinap Berries, five Rare Candies, an Incense, and additional encounters with Dark-type and Grass-type Pokémon within Pokémon GO.

During the Verdant Wonders event in Pokemon GO, Incense will be amplified, facilitating encounters with Panpour, Pansage, Pansear, Cutiefly, Zorua, and a special Cottonee adorned with a flower crown. Additionally, using Incense may attract encounters with various Flabébé variants, including Blue Flower, Red Flower, Yellow Flower, White Flower, and Orange Flower.
Throughout Verdant Wonders, numerous Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild, irrespective of the player’s region. This lineup includes Bulbasaur, Oddish, Tangela, Hoppip, Poochyena, Nuzleaf, and Shroomish. Players will also gain access to Verdant Wonders-themed Field Research tasks, completing which grants encounters with Vulpix, Poliwag, Marill, Slugma, and many others. Given the increased Pokemon activity during the event, frequent visits to local PokeStops in Pokemon GO are recommended.
While a ticket is required for access to the Special Research story, the Verdant Flowers event offers an extensive array of collectible Pokémon. Accumulating these Pokémon contributes to the completion of the event’s Collection Challenge, which rewards participants with additional bonuses like XP, Stardust, and special Cottonee encounters. Moreover, the event-themed Pokémon can prove valuable in Pokémon GO PokeStop Showcases, allowing players to continuously amass rewards.
