McDonald’s Offers a Delicious Preview of the ‘WcDonald’s Immersive Dining Experience’ in Los Angeles, California.

Teaming up with professional illustrator Acky Bright (known for Knight Terrors: Angel Breaker), McDonald’s has ventured into the world of manga creation. Together, they’ve crafted the world’s first official “WcDonald’s” manga series, featuring original stories and characters inspired by the copyright-free parody that has been a staple in numerous popular anime.

Now, the renowned fast food chain is set to bring the satirical WcDonald’s brand to life through a series of immersive 360-degree tabletop projections. As showcased below, customers will be transported to the WcDonald’s universe isekai-style, immersing themselves in the whimsical world while indulging in delectable WcDonald’s menu items.

"WcDonald's" Anime Dining Event

McDonald’s has pulled out all the stops for its latest event, transforming participating storefronts with panels from Acky Bright’s manga. The “WcDonald’s” brand name, displayed proudly in both English and Japanese, adorns the building facade and nearby signage.

For a limited time, McDonald’s is offering its renowned chicken nuggets as “Wcnuggets,” accompanied by the exclusive “Savory Chili” brand sauce from WcDonald’s. Each meal includes specialty packaging and a QR code granting access to Bright’s manga and WcDonald’s anime episodes, created in collaboration with Studio Pierrot (known for Naruto and Bleach).

In a recent interview with CBR, Acky Bright expressed his excitement for McDonald’s enthusiasm towards the project. “I was very surprised… as an artist, every time we draw a marquee or banner for a well-known brand, we present it as a parody, and we are always kind of nervous, thinking, ‘is McDonald’s going to be mad at me for doing this?’ So the fact that McDonald’s is representing itself as ‘WcDonald’s’ is so funny, and I thought it was very cool,” Bright stated.

McDonald’s has already launched two of the planned four episodes of the WcDonald’s Saga, as seen above. To honor the diverse realm of anime, Acky Bright incorporated elements from various popular genres into the series.

Episode 1, titled “The Race to WcDonald’s,” follows rivals Mitero and Hashirune as they compete to reach WcDonald’s first. This short is clearly inspired by shonen anime, with Hashirune shown powering up reminiscent of Dragon Ball’s Goku.

In Episode 2, “Love Across the Booth,” viewers witness a romantic “WcDonald’s” lunch date between Kazuki and Shizuru. The remaining episodes, “WcNuggets Space Frontier 3000” and “The Wisdom of the Sauce,” are set to premiere on March 11 and March 18, respectively.

Don’t miss out on McDonald’s “WcDonald’s Immersive Dining Experience,” taking place on March 9-10.
