Taking his place is Searchlight Co-President David Greenbaum, who assumes the new title of President, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios. Overseeing Greenbaum will be Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Alan Bergman, with 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell reporting directly to Greenbaum.

Reflecting on his time with the studio, Bailey expressed gratitude to his dedicated team and celebrated the accomplishments they achieved together. Notably, Bailey’s tenure coincided with the production of Tron: Legacy, marking a poignant connection as he embarks on his next chapter while contributing to the latest installment in the franchise.

During Bailey’s leadership, Disney movies have amassed an impressive $7 billion in global box office revenue. His oversight included blockbuster live-action adaptations like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Jungle Book, which resonated with audiences worldwide. Additionally, Bailey spearheaded the creation of original content for Disney+, including live-action reimaginings of classics like Lady and the Tramp and Pinocchio, along with highly anticipated sequels such as Disenchanted and Hocus Pocus 2.

As Bailey bids adieu, he extends his well wishes to Disney’s leadership, including Bob Iger and Alan Bergman, while expressing optimism for the studio’s future endeavours.
