In addition to the tantalizing glimpse of Garraka, the images include a familiar face: Paul Rudd returns as Gary Grooberson. In an exclusive interview with Games Radar, Rudd shares his thoughts on stepping into the world of Ghostbusters and embracing his role as a new member of the team.

“To be in a Ghostbusters flight suit and driving the Ecto-1 was a real kick,” the actor enthuses. “You know, there aren’t many of those vehicles around. It isn’t like they built them new for this movie. It’s pretty crazy to think, ‘This is the Ecto-1 from the original Ghostbusters and I get to drive it.’”

As for what it was like to get behind the wheel of one of cinema’s most iconic vehicles, he added, “You’re thinking, ‘Holy shit.’ You’re thinking, ‘Wait, I’m actually driving the Ecto-1. This is the coolest thing ever.’ But then you’re thinking, ‘Don’t crash.’ You feel the weight of that thing, both literally and metaphorically, so it’s exciting and interesting.”

Following the mixed reception of the female-led Ghostbusters reboot five years ago, expectations were cautiously low for Ghostbusters: Afterlife in 2021. However, the film pleasantly surprised audiences and now, with the original cast stepping into larger roles, the pressure is on for its highly anticipated sequel to maintain that momentum.

In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family reunites at the iconic New York City firehouse, where they join forces with the original Ghostbusters. Together, they’ve established a top-secret research lab to revolutionize their ghostbusting endeavors.

However, their plans take a chilling turn when the unearthing of an ancient artifact unleashes a malevolent force. With the threat of a second Ice Age looming, old and new Ghostbusters must unite to safeguard their home and prevent global catastrophe.

The star-studded cast includes Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, along with franchise veterans Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Bill Murray. The screenplay, penned by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan, will be brought to life by director Gil Kenan.

Mark your calendars for the chilling adventure of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, hitting theatres on March 29, 2024.
