Alright, fellow Marvel fanatics, the Thunderbolts trailer has finally arrived, and we’ve got our first real look at The Sentry! Well… kind of. While he’s mostly hidden in the shadows, there’s no doubt Marvel Studios has a good reason for keeping his full reveal under wraps.
And speaking of shadows—New York City is literally being swallowed by one. That’s not just The Sentry flexing his powers; it’s The Void. If you know your comics, you already get why that’s a huge deal. The Void is the monstrous, all-consuming dark half of Robert Reynolds, a force so powerful that even Earth’s mightiest heroes have struggled to take him down. But with the Avengers still nowhere to be found, it’s up to the Thunderbolts to try and stop him.
The trailer gives us plenty of team interactions, setting up the squad’s dynamic. Sure, this isn’t a 1:1 recreation of the comic lineup, but Marvel Studios seems to have picked a solid mix of characters from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and Ant-Man and The Wasp to build something special.
And did you catch that quick shot of the redesigned Avengers Tower? Yeah, we’re gonna need to break that down ASAP. Stay tuned for our deep dive tomorrow, but for now, check out the Big Game trailer and the official poster below!
Marvel Studios—along with a crew of indie darlings who definitely cashed in—brings us Thunderbolts, an offbeat, chaotic team-up featuring everyone’s favorite sarcastic assassin, Yelena Belova, leading the MCU’s most unexpected group of antiheroes.
The star-studded lineup includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as the ever-hilarious Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as the morally questionable U.S. Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as the elusive Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the scheming Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and Lewis Pullman as… well, “Bob.”
Penned by Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo, with Jake Schreier in the director’s chair, Thunderbolts is set to explode onto the big screen on May 5, 2025. Buckle up, Marvel fans—this one’s going to be wild.
