A female Teamster working on Warner Bros.’ 2025 tentpole “Superman” tragically took her own life on Wednesday morning at Trilith Studios near Atlanta, according to local police. The DC movie, directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, is being filmed on the Trilith lot alongside another DC project, Season 2 of “Peacemaker.”
The incident occurred in the crew parking lot. Officers discovered the worker in a vehicle with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, stated Capt. Austin Dunn of the Fayetteville Police Department. The incident was reported at 6:47 a.m.
“Evidence collected revealed no suspicion of foul play, nor is the investigation connected to any ongoing studio projects,” Capt. Dunn stated.
News of the tragedy quickly spread among the film crew in Atlanta, a major hub for Hollywood productions. The close-knit Atlanta production community is mourning the loss of their colleague. Sources report that when director James Gunn learned of the situation, he gathered the crew to inform them and halted production for the day. “Superman” is currently in its final week of production.
A Teamster business agent in Atlanta declined to comment on the incident when reached by phone.

Trilith Studios, located near the Atlanta airport, is a sprawling 1,000-acre campus with sound stages, workshops, offices, and backlots. Known as the nation’s largest purpose-built studio complex, it was originally called Pinewood Atlanta Studios. Recent productions at Trilith include Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” DC’s “Black Adam,” and Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis.” No Marvel productions were filming on Wednesday.
Trilith is also home to live-audience shows like the latest iteration of “Family Feud.”
A Trilith representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Fayette County coroner also declined to comment.
