Filming for the new Superman movie continued this weekend, and it looks like the Man of Tomorrow is in serious trouble at Metropolis’ LordTech Field.

In the latest set footage, The Engineer and Ultraman are seen circling a struggling Superman, who is clearly having difficulty getting back on his feet. After a brief exchange where Superman seems to address both villains, he takes to the sky, likely retreating to regroup.

It’s unusual to see Superman retreat from a fight, but it seems he has no other choice in this scenario. Notably, The Engineer appears to be a formidable opponent, suggesting this Superman doesn’t possess the same God-like abilities as Henry Cavill’s version.

It’s also been confirmed that Superman will be filming at the Cincinnati Union Terminal later this week. This location, the real-life inspiration for the Hall of Justice, raises intriguing questions. Is it the base for Maxwell Lord’s team, or could it be where Clark Kent decides to establish his own team? We’ll have to wait and see.

You may have also seen the image below circulating online. Many fans speculate that it shows Superman facing off against his clone. However, we’ve done some digging and can confirm it’s actually David Corenswet’s stunt double.

While Ultraman is still anticipated to be a Lex Luthor-created clone, it’s likely that when Ultraman unmasks, it will be a new take on Bizarro confronting the DCU’s Man of Steel.

“Superman” explores the journey of Superman as he reconciles his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas. Embodying truth, justice, and the American way, Superman is guided by human kindness in a world that often views kindness as old-fashioned.

David Corenswet stars as the Man of Steel, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Lois Lane. The impressive cast also includes Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.

Supporting characters are portrayed by Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Pa Kent, Neva Howell as Ma Kent, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher MacDonald as Ron Troupe, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Milly Alcock is expected to make a cameo appearance as Supergirl, setting the stage for her own movie, “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.”

“Superman” is slated for release in theatres on July 11, 2025.
