Work has resumed on Superman at Metropolis’ LordTech Field, part of Cleveland’s Progressive Field, with David Corenswet’s Man of Tomorrow taking flight.
As seen below, Superman is spinning through the air during an intense battle with Ultraman and The Engineer. Although The Engineer briefly overpowers him, hinting at her greater strength compared to her comic book version, a furious Superman soon retaliates against the villains.
Evidence continues to suggest Ultraman is significantly stronger than the Kryptonian, which likely explains his name. Details about this version of Ultraman remain sparse, but it’s expected he will be revealed as a clone rather than a Multiversal doppelganger.
The fact that Ultraman is masked hints that his true identity will be revealed later in the movie. We hope that when Superman unmasks Ultraman, it will reveal his own face, introducing the DCU’s take on Bizarro.
James Gunn was on set today, sporting a custom t-shirt with the movie’s logo. If you missed that, you can see it here.
