LEGO is back at it, transforming another beloved franchise into a charming adventure filled with action, humor, and creativity. The latest reveal, showcased during the Summer Game Fest, is none other than LEGO Horizon Adventures.
Described as a “playful and light-hearted story inspired by the world of Horizon,” this game is set in a distant future within a land crafted entirely from LEGO bricks. The setting closely mirrors the Horizon video games, featuring a post-apocalyptic wasteland and giant mech-like dinosaurs, all reimagined in the signature LEGO tone and style.
Introduced by a quirky Hot Dog Man minifigure, the game quickly transitions into gameplay reminiscent of previous LEGO adventures. Players will see Aloy, the main character, and other survivors exploring the brick-based wasteland, battling mech dinos, uncovering secrets, and collecting shiny studs. Additionally, the game includes a base-building element and a variety of fun, outlandish costumes to enjoy.
Prepare to embark on this exciting adventure when LEGO Horizon Adventures releases later this year!
In a distant future, the land is made of LEGO bricks and incredible dinosaur-like machines roam the Earth. Aloy, the game’s leading hero, is found in a cave as a baby and raised by a grizzled huntsman called Rost, who teaches her the way of the wilds. One day, Aloy embarks on a quest to discover her true destiny. Guided by a thousand-year-old hologram of a scientist called Elisabet, Aloy must confront Helis, the leader of a group of sun worshipers who bow to an Ancient Evil shrouded in mystery. There’s much more in store for Aloy and her friends, as their adventure sends them across the tallest mountains and deepest cauldrons — all beautifully recreated in LEGO elements.
While the original Horizon games for PlayStation are single-player adventures, LEGO Horizon Adventures offers the flexibility to explore the wasteland solo or with another player via couch or online co-op. The game has been designed for seamless two-player action without the need for split-screen.
Set to launch this Holiday season on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, LEGO Horizon Adventures will be available on all platforms from day one, with no timed exclusivity for PlayStation.
The announcement of LEGO Horizon Adventures follows the release of tangible LEGO sets based on the Horizon video games. Earlier this year, the Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck set, a 1,222-piece replica of the iconic Horizon machine, hit the shelves, further cementing the collaboration between LEGO and the beloved PlayStation franchise.
