By Monday morning, Sony reversed course, abandoning the mandatory PSN integration. The decision followed intense backlash, with negative reviews flooding Steam. Notably, Helldivers 2 surpassed major titles like Call of Duty and GTA 5 to become Steam’s most negatively reviewed paid game.
The online community of Helldivers are now urging players to revise their negative Steam reviews now that Sony has reversed its earlier decisions. While the negative feedback prompted action, it could have lasting repercussions on Helldivers 2’s reputation. According to Steamdb, the game has seen a decrease of 30,000 negative reviews since Sony’s announcement, but improvement is still needed. With the current rating at 52%, far from its original 85%, removing negative reviews is crucial to boosting the score.
