In celebration of Star Wars Day on May 4th (Today), Epic Games has revealed an exciting crossover event in Fortnite.
Starting a day early on May 3rd with update v29.40, the Fortnite x Star Wars event will bring the galactic adventure to various corners of the Fortnite universe, including LEGO Fortnite, Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing.
In the Battle Royale mode, players can expect Chewbacca to join the fray. To enlist his help, players must locate a specific Imperial Roadblock on the map (which changes with each match) and free the captured Wookie from the clutches of the Empire. Should players successfully rescue Chewbacca first, he will become an ally, armed with his trusty Bowcaster.
Additionally, Chewbacca will award players with their own Wookie Bowcaster for their heroic efforts. Alternatively, lucky players may discover one inside Imperial Chests at Imperial Roadblocks. The Bowcaster allows for rapid fire of individual bolts or a charged-up shot for a more impactful explosion.
Prepare for an epic showdown as Darth Vader and his squad of Stormtroopers descend upon the Fortnite map. Arriving via the Lambda Shuttle, Lord Vader and his troops will touch down in one of three predetermined landing zones during each match. Should you emerge victorious against the Sith Lord, you’ll have the chance to wield his iconic lightsaber. This formidable weapon can be utilized both in melee combat and as a ranged attack, capable of deflecting incoming shots. Keep an eye out for E-11 Blasters, the signature armament of the Stormtroopers, available in Imperial Chests at Vader’s landing sites.
In addition to the intense battles, special Star Wars Quests will be introduced in Battle Royale mode. Complete five quests to earn a Battle Pass Level up, and completing ten will grant you the coveted AWR Pack Back Bling. These quests will be released in two phases: starting on May 3rd at 9:00 a.m. ET, and continuing on May 7th at 9:00 a.m. ET.
LEGO Fortnite fans are also in for a treat, with an abundance of Star Wars content arriving in the crossover event. Players will be enlisted to aid the Rebels in constructing and defending the Rebel Village against the invading Galactic Empire. Equip yourself with special tools like Lightsabers, DL-44 Blasters, and Thermal Detonators to bolster your defenses.
Furthermore, a special LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure will be up for grabs, offering a mix of free and premium rewards inspired by Tatooine. By assisting the Rebels, you can unlock exclusive in-game items such as the “Tatooine Turret and Tanks Bundle” and the “Mos Eisley Blue Milk Bar Bundle.” Even the free reward track holds significant value, culminating in the ultimate prize: the Mos Eisley Marketplace Build.
If you want all of the Star Wars cosmetics, the Premium Reward Track will cost 1,400 V-Bucks. When buying it, you’ll instantly unlock the Chewbacca Outfit.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the Star Wars universe within Fortnite Festival, the in-game music-playing mode. Inspired by Mos Eisley’s iconic cantina, a new area awaits exploration. To unlock the Seven-string Hallikset Guitar, a beloved Naboo classic, players must complete seven of Fortnite Festival’s Star Wars Quests, set to launch on May 3rd. Dive into the festivities and embark on this musical journey across the galaxy!
Prepare for adrenaline-fueled action in Fortnite’s Rocket Racing mode, where podracing-inspired thrills await. By completing 14 Star Wars Quests within the mode, players can unlock the coveted Energy Binders Trail, adding an electrifying touch to their racing experience.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Celebrate May the Fourth with special quests available exclusively on this momentous day. Complete four quests to unlock Anakin’s Podracer Decal, and double your efforts to secure the elusive Darth Maul Decal by completing eight quests. May the Force be with you as you race to victory!
Prepare to enhance your Fortnite experience with a range of Star Wars-inspired cosmetics, available for purchase individually in the in-game shop. Starting May 3rd, iconic outfits including Dagobah Luke, Lando Calrissian, and the AWR Trooper will debut in the shop. Purchasing these outfits unlocks them for Battle Royale gameplay, as well as in LEGO style for LEGO Fortnite.
That’s not all! Previous fan-favorite Star Wars Series Outfits are making a return throughout the event. From the legendary Boba Fett to beloved heroes like Han Solo, Leia Organa, Finn, Kylo Ren, Rey, and many more, there’s something for every Star Wars fan to enjoy. Don’t miss out on the chance to add these legendary characters to your Fortnite roster!
