Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in “Madame Web” and “Immaculate,” has playfully taken aim at producer Carol Baum’s recent controversial comments. Sweeney made her statement loud and clear by sporting a sweatshirt with a bold message front and centre.
After we reported on veteran film producer Carol Baum’s remarks about Sydney Sweeney at a recent event in New York, controversy ensued. Baum, known for her work on acclaimed projects like “Dead Ringers” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” publicly criticized Sweeney, stating that she found the film “Anyone But You” to be “unwatchable.” However, it was Baum’s personal comments about Sweeney that ignited backlash, leading to scrutiny and criticism.
“Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?”
Sweeney’s team later issued a scathing response that read:
“How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman.”
“If that’s what she’s learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, that’s shameful. To unjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes about Ms. Baum’s character.”

With notable performances in “Euphoria” and “Immaculate,” Sydney Sweeney has demonstrated her acting prowess and is carving her path in Hollywood as a producer as well. However, in a recent Instagram post featuring snapshots from her vacation in Mexico, the actress appears to have subtly addressed Baum’s criticism with a tongue-in-cheek photo. Take a look at the gallery below to see her sporting a sweatshirt emblazoned with the words:
“Sorry for having great t**s.”
Last month, Sweeney addressed the apparent obsession that some people have with her body by explaining:
“I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to have a reaction. I don’t know how to explain it – I’m still trying to figure it out myself.”
“People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I’ve signed my life away. That I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. That these characters are for everybody else, but then me as Sydney is not for me anymore”
“It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over,” she concluded.

Recent rumors suggest that Sydney Sweeney is in discussions for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), potentially portraying Black Cat in “Spider-Man 4.” While her performance in Sony’s troubled “Madame Web” garnered attention, the reception was less than ideal. It’s understandable that she might seek to cleanse her palate of that experience by taking on the role of Felicia Hardy, wanting to leave a more positive mark.
On the other hand, Carol Baum has not addressed Sweeney’s remarks yet. Given the potential for further backlash online, she may opt to remain silent to avoid exacerbating the situation.
