Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine drops a fresh trailer, teasing the summer’s most anticipated team-up between the irreverent Merc with a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) and the adamantium-clawed Weapon X (Hugh Jackman). The duo embarks on a mission to save the multiverse from impending doom, promising a wild ride through the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After much speculation about Hugh Jackman’s role in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” the trailer seems to confirm that he’s portraying a variant, allowing the Logan from “Logan” to remain deceased. This version of Wolverine appears to have failed his universe, as hinted by Paradox’s statement that Logan “let down his entire world.” The trailer also shows Logan standing before what could be tombstones of his fallen X-Men comrades.

While it’s unclear if Emma Corrin is playing Cassandra Nova, her character’s conflict with this Wolverine variant is evident. However, based on the action scenes and powers showcased in the trailer, as well as the character’s visual appearance, there’s speculation that Corrin might be portraying Charles Xavier’s twin sister instead. Perhaps Corrin’s villain hails from the same world as the new Wolverine variant, explaining their animosity.

A significant moment in the trailer is when Wade and Logan jump into a portal as their world, possibly the X-Men movie universe, crumbles around them. This scene may mark the end of Fox’s Marvel franchise, with dark clouds engulfing everything. Interestingly, the portal resembles the ones seen in Doctor Strange’s magic, raising questions about his involvement or the presence of another magical entity.
