Venom 3’s Official Title Unveiled with Release Date Moved Up

Venom: The Last Dance, the title for the highly anticipated Venom 3, has been disclosed. Originally slated for Nov. 8, 2024, the film’s release has been rescheduled to Oct. 25, 2024, as reported by Variety. Audiences can expect to experience the film in premium large formats and IMAX just in time for the Halloween season.

The official title reveal of the sequel hints at a possible tease by lead star Tom Hardy. In November 2023, Hardy shared an image from the set discussing his journey as Eddie Brock. The beginning of his statement, “V3NOM 3. The Last Dance,” sparked speculation about the conclusion of the movie series with the third instalment. This post could have influenced the movie’s title or served as a subtle way to hint at it before the official announcement.

“Tom is such a fan of Venom and the relationship between Eddie and Venom,” co-star Juno Temple recently said of Hardy’s appreciation for the franchise, per the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “He’s so excited about telling this story and is so thrilled to have other people be part of [that.] He feels like a kid on the first day at school. That’s pretty good energy to start a job with as it’s intimidating, but when you have Venom himself as excited and nervous as you are because you all care, it feels like, ‘Ah, I’m in the right place!’”

Joining the Venom franchise in roles for Venom: The Last Dance are Clark Backo (known for Supernatural) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (from Doctor Strange). Kelly Marcel directs the movie and pens the script, having crafted the story alongside Hardy. Marcel and Hardy also serve as producers alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.

Kraven the Hunter, another upcoming film within the same continuity, is set to premiere on Aug. 30, preceding the release of Venom: The Last Dance. Following the challenges faced by Madame Web, the box office performances of both Kraven the Hunter and Venom: The Last Dance are expected to significantly influence the future of the SSU beyond this year.

Venom: The Last Dance is scheduled for release in theaters on Oct. 25, 2024.
