According to O’Brian, Twisters will generate a whirlwind of positive vibes upon its cinematic debut, promising a rating likely to be PG or possibly PG-13. She also highlighted director Lee Isaac Chung’s unique background, citing his diverse portfolio ranging from indie gems like “Minari” to mainstream hits like “Star Wars: The Mandalorian.” O’Brian expressed confidence in Chung’s ability to capture the essence of the battle between humanity and nature, underscoring the importance of maintaining a balance with the natural world.

Katy O’Brian, known for her role as Jentorra in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” recently shared her admiration for director Lee Isaac Chung’s vision for the upcoming Twisters sequel. In an interview, O’Brian hyped the film’s visual effects, emphasizing how they filmed in the tornado-prone region of Tornado Alley to enhance the on-screen realism.

“I think he has this really, really beautiful vision for it, and I think it’s going to be cool for people to see. I don’t think people are going to expect to go into a movie about tornadoes and be awed by the cinematography and the direction,” O’Brian commented.

The first official trailer for Twisters was released last month, featuring Glen Powell as Tyler Owens, Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Cooper, and Anthony Ramos as Javi. Notably, the sequel introduces new characters, with no returning cast from the original film.

While O’Brian’s role in Twisters remains undisclosed, she hinted that her character would bring a lighthearted touch to the film. “I don’t want to say comedic role, and then everyone’s like, ‘She wasn’t funny.’ We’ll say it’s silly and fun,” she teased. Fans eagerly await the release of Twisters to witness Chung’s captivating vision and O’Brian’s intriguing performance.

No Legacy Characters Return in Twisters

Though Twisters won’t bring back any legacy characters from the original movie, Powell has insisted the sequel isn’t a reboot. The film was written by The Revenant scribe Mark L. Smith and co-produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. Twisters reportedly cost $200 million to make, with principal photography taking place in Oklahoma City between May and December of last year. According to Twisters’ synopsis, “Daisy Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system.

There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better. As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler, and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.” The original film is considered a cult classic, earning $495.7 million against a $92 million budget and earning two Academy Award nominations. Twisters is co-distributed by Universal Pictures and Warner Bros., opening in theatres on Jul. 19. Source: Entertainment Weekly
