Confirmed Today: Eight Classic Spider-Man Movies Returning to Theatres This Year! While We Await Spider-Man 4 News.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Columbia Pictures in 2024, Sony is set to re-release several Spider-Man movies in theaters over the coming months, thanks to Cinemark.

Kicking off the series is Spider-Man (2002) on April 15, followed by Spider-Man 2 (2004) on April 22, and concluding with Spider-Man 3 (2007) on April 29. For those who missed out on these cinematic experiences the first time around, this is a golden opportunity, especially for the first two films.

Moving forward, The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) swings into theaters on May 6, with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) arriving shortly after on May 13.

Marvel Studios’ acclaimed trilogy is also making a comeback, with Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) scheduled for May 20, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) on May 27, and the latest installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), hitting theaters on June 3.

While fans eagerly anticipate these re-releases, it’s worth noting that there are currently no plans for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to join the lineup.

Columbia Pictures

“There is one thing that separates a major studio from all other content producers: history. At Columbia, that history is reflected in the countless cultural talismans created by thousands of people over now 100 years. All of us at Columbia are proud of that legacy and honoured to celebrate it,” said Tom Rothman, Chairman & CEO of Sony Pictures’ Motion Picture Group, earlier this year.

Columbia Pictures, founded by brothers Harry and Jack Cohn along with Joe Brandt on January 10, 1924, rose to prominence after the success of Frank Capra’s 1934 classic, “It Happened One Night,” which swept the Oscars. Since then, the studio has solidified its place as an elite player in the film industry, producing a wide array of award-winning films and timeless classics, as well as contributing to pop-culture phenomena.

Among its impressive roster of films are titles such as “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Taxi Driver,” “Tootsie,” “The Karate Kid,” “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon,” “Men In Black,” “Ghostbusters,” “Boyz n the Hood,” “Groundhog Day,” “The Social Network,” “Jumanji,” “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood,” “Little Women,” “Spider-Man,” and many more. Columbia Pictures’ legacy is marked by its diverse and impactful contributions to cinema over the past century.

Tom Holland

“Absolutely, yeah,” Tom Holland told us in 2021 when we asked if he was inspired by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men. “I think before I started shooting Spider-Man: No Way Home, before the first day, I had rewatched all of their movies. I think I’ve done that for all of my Spider-Man movies.”

“Their films are so fantastic and so rich with details that, you know, I’ve missed in the past so I go back and watch them and steal little things here and there that I love. I have definitely revisited their films.”

Which of these Spider-Man movies are you excited to watch again?
