In its opening weekend, the theatrical screening of the one-hour first episode of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc television anime and the final episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc has made waves, earning an estimated US$11,575,000 according to Box Office Mojo. The film’s success continues as it entered the U.S. box office ranking at #2.
Box Office Mojo reports that the film garnered US$5,525,000 on Friday (including preview screenings on Thursday), US$3,530,000 on Saturday, and US$2,520,000 on Sunday.
This achievement follows the impressive performance of similar theatrical screenings of the first episode of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc television anime in March 2023, which earned US$10.1 million in its opening weekend.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- is also available for screening in IMAX and premium large formats, enhancing the viewing experience for fans.
The film’s success extends beyond the U.S., as it opened in Tokyo on February 2 as part of a World Tour, debuting at #1 with 443,700 tickets sold for approximately US$4.35 million in its first three days. As of February 18, it has sold a total of 1.03 million tickets for approximately US$9.32 million.
Fans can look forward to the premiere of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc anime in spring, following the successful run of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc anime, which premiered in April 2023 with a one-hour special and aired for 11 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired.
