Deadpool Slashes into MCU and Record Books with Explosive Trailer Debut

Breaking records and busting expectations, the first trailer for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ made its electrifying debut during Sunday’s Super Bowl, shattering the record for the most-viewed movie trailer within 24 hours. Disney reports an astonishing 365 million total views, toppling the previous record held by ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ with 355.5 million views in its initial day back in 2021.

Boosted by this year’s Super Bowl, which clinched the title of the most-viewed telecast in history with a staggering 123.7 million viewers, the stage was set for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ to steal the spotlight. As superstar Taylor Swift cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs alongside her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, the game drew the highest-ever number of simultaneous viewers, further propelling the trailer’s unprecedented success.

Arriving in theaters on July 26, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ marks the raucous introduction of Ryan Reynolds’ R-rated Merc With a Mouth into Disney’s family-friendly Marvel Cinematic Universe. In a blood-soaked, fourth-wall-breaking trailer, Deadpool, self-proclaimed ‘Marvel Jesus,’ makes his boisterous entrance after being whisked away by the Time Variance Authority, last seen in ‘Loki,’ into a world shared with the Avengers.

While Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine remains unseen in the trailer, he is confirmed to leap from the ‘X-Men’ universe into the MCU in this third installment of the ‘Deadpool’ saga. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film boasts a star-studded cast including Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.

Behind the scenes, powerhouse producers Kevin Feige, Reynolds, Levy, and Lauren Shuler Donner helm the project, supported by an impressive lineup of executive producers and writers including Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Levy himself.
