Disney+ Renews ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ for Second Season: What to Expect
Exciting news for fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians! The hit Disney+ series has just been renewed for a second season, and we have all the details on who’s returning and what the new season will be based on.

Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, announced the renewal during the first quarter earnings call for the 2024 fiscal year.
The upcoming season will draw inspiration from ‘The Sea of Monsters,’ the second book in Rick Riordan’s beloved series published by Disney Hyperion. Fans can expect the return of familiar faces like Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri as the series embarks on another thrilling adventure.
Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, expressed her enthusiasm for the new season, praising its magic, wonder, adventure, and heart. She looks forward to collaborating with Riordan, 20th Television, and the talented cast and crew.
Riordan himself shared his excitement, declaring, “I can’t wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+! Raise anchors. Hoist the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We’re heading for the Sea of Monsters!”
The first season of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ made a splash, with the premiere episode garnering 26.2 million views in its first three weeks on Disney+ and Hulu. Disney’s internal metrics reveal that the first season has accumulated over 110 million streaming hours to date.
The show’s success has revitalized the Percy Jackson books, propelling them to the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list for Middle Grade series. Additionally, the series has inspired merchandise from Hot Topic and Barnes & Noble, with more to come.
Season one of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
