Fans have been eagerly awaiting a glimpse of Sam Wilson’s updated costume for Captain America: Brave New World, and thanks to some promo art featured on Marvel’s next Collectors Corps box, the wait is finally over.
While we’ve previously seen some blurry set photos and a behind-the-scenes shot from the production kick-off, this promo art provides the first official look at Anthony Mackie’s Wilson in his new attire.
Drawing inspiration from Wilson’s debut suit in the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the updated costume takes a fresh approach with a colour scheme reminiscent of Steve Rogers’ iconic attire from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Filming for the fourth Captain America movie commenced on March 21 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta before shifting to Washington, DC. Despite initial smooth progress, unexpected delays pushed the film’s release to 2025, with reshoots rumored to address concerns over the action sequences.
Some speculate that these reshoots aim to enhance existing scenes or introduce new set pieces, possibly in response to feedback on initial footage. Despite setbacks, set photos circulating online have offered glimpses into the film’s direction, including sightings of the Serpent Society, the primary antagonists, and key characters like Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in his new Captain America attire, and Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) as the MCU’s new Falcon.
The ensemble cast is impressive, with Mackie reprising his role as Sam Wilson alongside new additions like Shira Haas as Sabra, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader, and Harrison Ford as “Thunderbolt” Ross.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, rumours suggest Samuel Sterns may emerge as the clandestine backer of the Serpent Society, hinting at intricate political machinations. With speculation swirling, it’s unclear how prominent The Leader’s role will be, but given the film’s ambitious scope, surprises may await in Captain America: Brave New World.
