James Gunn Confirms David Corenswet’s Superman Costume Tests; Alleged Images Deemed Fake

David Corenswet’s involvement in Superman costume tests has been acknowledged by James Gunn. However, recent images circulating online purporting to show these tests are now deemed fake.

Gunn revealed that Corenswet tested with a previous Superman suit, but due to his 6’4″ stature, it didn’t fit properly (for context, Henry Cavill is 6’1″, Brandon Routh is 6’2″, and Christopher Reeve was also 6’4″).

Despite this confirmation, three images surfaced online (shown at the bottom of this article!) claiming to depict Corenswet’s costume tests for ‘Superman: Legacy.’ However, scrutiny reveals they appear heavily doctored and likely to be photoshop or AI-generated fakes.

Concerns from fans prompted discussions on online forums, with one fan directly asking Gunn about Corenswet’s involvement: “Hey Mr. Gunn, just one question – has David Corenswet worn the Superman suit for screen testing? There’s a ‘leak’ on the internet, and if it’s true, he looks great as the new Superman.

Gunn’s Response to Leak Speculations: “No Legit Leaks Exist”

Addressing speculations about leaked images, Gunn clarified, “Glad you think he looks great, but there’s no leak. The only photos taken of David in the Superman suit are on my phone and I’m standing with him.”

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Gunn is well aware of how leaks operate in the industry and wouldn’t allow legitimate leaks to occur. Take a look at the images below for reference.”

Scheduled for a highly anticipated release on July 11, 2025, ‘Superman: Legacy’ promises an exhilarating cinematic journey under Gunn’s visionary direction. In a December announcement, Gunn officially confirmed that actor Nicholas Hoult will portray Superman’s infamous arch nemesis, Lex Luthor, adding to the excitement surrounding the film.
