Latest whispers on digital streets suggest Disney is taking action to address Rachel Zegler’s critique of Snow White’s source material. In response, Disney aims to reduce Zegler’s screen time by introducing a new subplot centred on Snow White’s childhood.

First reported to the public on January 23rd by rising entertainment industry commentator and That Park Place editor WDW Pro, this rumor stems from an alleged insider source. It suggests that due to Rachel Zegler’s declining popularity among audiences, attributed to her public criticisms of Disney’s original animated version of Snow White, the House of Mouse is actively seeking to improve the public’s perception of the live-action princess by softening her portrayal.
Instead of reshooting the film with a new actress or expecting Rachel Zegler to dramatically alter her portrayal of Snow White, which is deemed impractical due to cost and audience skepticism, Disney has opted for a different approach. According to insights from WDW Pro, Disney intends to revamp the live-action Snow White’s image through a new storyline focusing on her childhood, portrayed by a separate actress.
To this end, as relayed by WDW Pro, “Disney has hired a young actress to play Snow White as a child.”
“The idea is to cut time out of Zegler’s performance, show Snow White as a cute little kid, and soften the character with flashbacks and/or major origin story portion at the beginning of the film,” he further recapped of his source’s information. “Of course, edits have not begun for these scenes as we believe they’re not shot yet, so things could change.”

As of the current moment, WDW Pro’s report, labeled as a rumor by the YouTuber, stands unverified by official sources.
Interestingly, prior to WDW Pro’s revelation, Disney-focused news source The DisInsider released a report stating that the film had recently selected 10-year-old CODA star Emilia Faucher for the role of the young Snow White
If this rumor turns out to be true, it would mark the latest alteration in the transition from the animated original to live-action.
As reported earlier, the film will introduce additional deviations from the source material, including the inclusion of a new character named Jonathan, played by WeCrashed actor Andrew Burnap, and the Queen, portrayed by Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, getting her own song and dance sequences.
Similar to the previous rumor, the casting of Emilia Faucher as young Snow White has not been officially confirmed by Disney or any associated parties involved in the film’s production.
The validity of both reports and the impact of Faucher’s potential role on audience reception remain uncertain. Only as Disney reveals more details leading up to Snow White’s release on March 21st, 2025, will we ascertain whether this addition will attract viewers to yet another Disney production.
