Legal Woes Surround MAXXXINE Star Mia Goth as Background Actor Alleges On-Set Head Kick and Mockery

A24’s highly anticipated horror sequel/prequel, MAXXXINE, takes an unexpected turn as actress Mia Goth faces a lawsuit from co-worker James Hunter. Hunter, who played the role of a “Dead Parishioner,” claims that during a scene, Goth deliberately kicked him in the head and later taunted and mocked him.

Hunter, hired for three days of work, endured challenging conditions on set, including lying on the ground covered in fake blood for hours. The trouble escalated when, during a scene where Goth was supposed to pass by him without contact, she allegedly kicked him in the head after a complaint was made to the second assistant director.

The lawsuit details Hunter’s distress, noting that the fake blood and robe used for the scene were painful to remove. Additionally, he claims to have suffered an undiagnosed concussion, nearly passing out twice on set. Seeking private medical attention, Hunter later discovered he had a concussion, leading to repercussions on his drive home and an abrupt end to his role, with the production no longer requiring his services.

As the legal battle unfolds, the MAXXXINE production faces unexpected challenges, putting a shadow over the much-anticipated horror film.

In the legal realm, an accusation has been filed against Mia Goth, alleging battery. The suit also asserts a wrongful termination claim against A24, Mia Goth, and Ti West.

Responses from Mia Goth’s representatives are currently pending. Stay tuned for updates as more details about this situation emerge.
