After months of swirling rumours and anticipation, confirmation finally arrived last summer that Jon Bernthal would be reprising his role as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, in the upcoming Disney+ Daredevil: Born Again series.

While multiple industry reports hinted at the actor’s return, there has been no official announcement regarding his involvement. Recently, Bernthal opened up about preparing to embody the ultra-violent vigilante once again in an interview with Collider.
Discussing Castle’s profound impact, The Origin star stated,
“I think there’s a reason why that character has resonated as deeply and strongly as he has, in the hearts and minds of comic book fans, first responders, people in the military, and individuals worldwide. I think there’s a little bit of Frank Castle in everybody. He exists very strongly inside me, and I care about that character deeply.”

Bernthal also shared insights into his approach to the character’s return, though he stopped short of confirming specific details.
While Born Again is still awaiting an official release date, exciting news emerged last week as Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson Fisk, shared that filming is poised to resume ‘not long from now… in a few weeks, in fact.’ The actor also hinted at the show maintaining a similar tone to the beloved Netflix Daredevil series.
“I also know that it’s absolutely essential that if we do it, we do it right and we have real sacred integrity to the source material and to what is at the core of Frank. I’m gonna do my absolute best to make sure that, if and when we do it, we do it right.”
